Thanks to the Thinkorswim platform, you can receive Realtime data feed, i.e. Real-time quotes for NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, FOREX and many other stock instruments in real time, such as CME futures, options, ETFs, etc.

Paper Money is a demo with a delay of 20 minutes for quotes (delayed data 20 min), as well as with limitations in working with filters.
Live Trading is a real-time mode, with real-time quotes, and at the same time, in Real-time mode, not only charts, but also scanners, filters, etc.

Benefits of Thinkorswim

If we consider the advantages of Thinkorswim compared to other analytical platforms, then in it you will find features such as:

How to open a Thinkorswim account?

TD Ameritrade is leading active struggle with registration and use of non-US Thinkorswim accounts! But what if you need a Thinkorswim graphics platform with real-time quotes and OnDemand functionality, and you're not a US citizen? There is an exit! Purchase access to Thinkorswim through the website

For several years now, TD Ameritrade has banned the registration of TOS Realtime for citizens of many countries, and registering a Thinkorswim account with real quotes, won't work anymore. Before that, there was the Thinkorswim Infinity service from pervoclass, where by specifying your email, you could immediately get a login and password for a Thinkorswim demo account in which there was a Realtime mode. Further, TDA disabled realtime on demo accounts, but at the same time, for several months, TDA had a glitch, and when registering a demo for the terminal, you could simply write the login with a capital letter, and the system mistakenly let the user into Live Realtime mode . But unfortunately this method of registration has not been relevant for a long time, because. Thinkorswim fixed this bug and, in addition, made it more difficult to register a real TOS account and get real quotes without a 20-minute delay in the terminal, and now, in order to open a Real-time account, you need to have friends in the USA who will open live real-time account for TOS, they will sign all the papers, pass verification and give you a ready account for use. If you do not have such acquaintances, please contact us and we will help you! Helping individuals outside of the US gain access to Thinkorswim gets a lot of positive feedback. Among our clients there are many residents of Ukraine, Russia and other countries who are prohibited from registering with TDA. Our service for renting Thinkorswim Realtime accounts is time-tested, all processes with our partners from the USA are well established and all issues are resolved very quickly. In case of difficulties using the platform, as well as in case of problems in its operation, you can always count on our help. Working with us, you will always be pleased with the efficiency of our tech. support, and confirmation of this - a large number of satisfied customers and their positive reviews on our YouTube channel under this thinkorswim registration video!

If you are not a US citizen, you will not be able to open a real Thinkorswim account without delay, and even if you are a citizen of one of the countries that still allow registration with TD Ameritrade, you will need to spend a lot of time on paperwork, to be printed, signed, sent post office and then wait another 1-2 months for permission to open an account, and then, it’s not yet a fact that they will open it. Moreover, having spent several months opening an account with TDA, even if you manage to open it, then in half a year you can be forced to close it, because. TD Ameritrade's policy is to block unfunded Thinkorswim accounts after 6 months of use. But there is a way out! You can purchase access to Thinkorswim through us and enjoy real-time quotes in just a few minutes after you submit a request for Thinkorswim registration on our website.

Our customers receive a high-quality and safe Thinkorswim Live Realtime rental service! Join now!

  • Realtime US accounts are opened through our US partners and continue to work successfully for more than three years.
  • We work quickly. We issue access to the Thinkorswim account on the day of the order. You will not need to wait several days for your TOS login and password, because we always have several accounts from Thinkorswim Live Realtime in stock and ready to use.
  • Along with this, we send you all the necessary setup instructions, and if you encounter any difficulties, we provide remote assistance via TeamViewer.
  • Also, you can get a ThinkOrSwim Live account on a turnkey basis before paying, which is very convenient for those who are not comfortable making purchases on the Internet.
  • And another very important moment of the security of our service - we give a guarantee for all Thinkorswim Realtime accounts, which means that if account TD Ameritrade something happens (which happens very rarely), we give you a new TOS account for free under warranty!

Purchasing a Thinkorswim account is possible for you in two ways:

Option one: Monthly lease of a thinkorswim account (allows you to rent TOS for one or more months). Suitable for those who are just getting acquainted with the terminal or decide to purchase permanent access to Thinkorswim through us.

Option two: Buy Thinkorswim for permanent use with an unlimited account guarantee. We will tell you a little background about this .. Some old accounts in 2017 began to be blocked for a reason we do not understand. As it turned out, the reason for the blocking was not replenished accounts. TD Ameritrade has begun blocking accounts that were opened more than six months ago without a deposit in the account. Such accounts received an official letter from TD Ameritrade, which stated the following: “We want to inform you that your account will be closed. The account currently has a zero balance. When asked how to avoid blocking a Thinkorswim account, TD Ameritrade representatives answered: “Please note that our system may close inactive and non-replenished accounts within 6 months after opening. In the meantime, if you deposit a small amount into your account, your Thinkorswim account will not be closed." Thus, we launched the registration of Thinkorswim accounts with an unlimited guarantee. We provide it by replenishing the platform account with the minimum amount from 10 to 50 dollars. You can see the Thinkorswim balance indicator in the upper left side of the platform. This procedure increases the cost of the account by the size of the deposit and the payment for services for the translation, but by doing so, you provide yourself with constant and uninterrupted access to the Thinkorswim platform. The unlimited warranty does not include force majeure. Such as the complete closure or bankruptcy of TD Ameritrade itself, as well as a change in its policy.

TOS

Good afternoon, readers of the trading blog. AT thinkorswimsetting default charts, that is, their design itself, does not look very good, to put it mildly. Since an active trader is constantly working with them, you need to achieve maximum visual perception. How to set up all these visual elements in Thinkorswim, as well as how to create an individual workspace, we will look at in this post.

So, fire up your terminal, go to the "Charts" tab, type in a ticker in the "Symbol" field, for example, SPY, and let's see what we have by default:

As you can see for yourself, the picture is not quite visually receptive. I will transform it just like the chart examples you see all the time on this blog. To start changing the design, find the wrench icon, as shown in the picture above, and click on it. You will have the following window:

At the very top there are settings tabs. The last three, which deal with options, futures and currency pairs, we are not interested.

Go to the "Appearance" tab and pay attention to the "Chart mode" field, in which we have to work.

We have two features here:

  1. chart type- type of chart, such as line, bar, candle, Heiken Ashi, etc. Everything is clear here, except for the difference between "Candle" and "Candle trend". These are both candlestick charts, but the last one has calculation algorithm like Heiken Ashi(that is, a bearish candlestick can be painted as a bullish candlestick and vice versa), so I recommend simply putting “Candle”.
  2. Ticks- here we set the color of the candles themselves. I love the classics: the black band, the bullish candlestick is hollow, and the bearish candlestick is black. All settings are visible in the example.

Now you need to click on the small blue triangle to the left of "Common" to open its box.

What can be changed here?

  1. Cursor - you can change the color and shape of the cursor. I leave it as is.
  2. Volume bars - the color of trading volume bars. I choose the second value and set the color to black. If you set the first value, then the volume bars will be colored like candles on the chart. Since our bullish candlestick is hollow, the bar will not be visible.
  3. Other - first select the background color, which I set to light yellow, and leave the color of the grid unchanged.

When you have done all these steps, click "Apply" and evaluate your result. The red vertical lines that separate the months don't fit in with our design (we don't need them). We will remove them and I will give some more tips on settings.

Go to the "Time axis" tab of the Thinkorswim settings and in the "Display" field, uncheck "Show expiration Friday", which will remove the red lines from the graph.

To prevent the chart from sticking too much to its right edge, put 3-5 in the "Expansion area" field. This will give a gap of 3-5 candles, which will greatly improve the visualization of the last candle.

Check the box next to "Corporate actions" if you want to see at the bottom of the chart when the next corporate news is released.

Now go to the "Price axis" tab. What can be changed:

  1. Field " Scale- do not change anything. Let there be automatic scaling. If you check the boxes next to the unchecked items, then the scale of your charts will be tied to specified value and degrade the viewing experience.
  2. expansion area- indentation from above and below. We leave it as is.
  3. custom interval- I recommend setting $1 for a day. This is the step of price change on the scale on the right.
  4. display– you can choose logarithmic or percentage scale. We leave it unchanged.

The last tab to view is "General". In order not to write for a long time, leave everything the same, except for two checkmarks, as noted in the figure below. If you have enabled two or more charts on the same screen, these functions will allow the cursor and graphical tools to appear on all charts at once.

How to adjust the scale in the Thinkorswim terminal?

Here we will distinguish and distinguish between two concepts:

  1. Period chart for which we need to view the price change. For example, a month, six months, a year, etc.
  2. Interval viewing. For example, a daily chart (1 candlestick = 1 day), a weekly chart, a minute chart, etc.

This means that the period and interval can be set by clicking on "Style" and selecting "Intraday" for an interval of no more than 4 hours and a period of no more than 180 days (intraday charts), or "Daily" for an interval of 1 day to a month and a period of 1 months to 20 years.

To instantly switch the scale, you can use the "D" icon. There are several scales set by default. To create your own at the very bottom of the window, click "Customize list ...".

Now switch to an intraday chart, for example 5-minutes over a 5-day period.

In the figure, the gray fields indicate off-session trading. So that they do not bother you, remove them by going into the settings - the "Equities" tab - uncheck the "Show extended-hours trading session" - "Ok".

Setting up a workspace in the Thinkorswim terminal

The last subtopic of this article. When you view many stocks at once or trade using multiple timeframe, then the graph should be almost full screen to improve visualization. This is what we'll do.

In the previous article "instruction Thinkorswim for stock listings» I showed you how to detach windows from the TOS terminal and link them - read on. Here we will do the same, but by connecting the chart itself to the watch list.

In the figure, the Watch list is already detached and linked. Do the same with the chart. Now, in order for the list of stocks to take up a minimum of space, we need to remove all secondary elements from it except for tickers. To do this, click on the circle to the left of "Symbol" and select "Customize".

In the window that appears, remove all the values from the right column by double-clicking the mouse or selecting and pressing "Remove", except for "Symbol" and click "Ok".

Now reduce the list of stocks as much as possible, and increase the chart. As a result, you should get something like this:

To split your large chart into several smaller ones to view the same stock on different timeframes, you need to use the split rectangle symbol in the upper right corner of the terminal.

You can create many such small charts, then link them in different ways and assign different periods and intervals for them.

Conclusion

This is how it happens in thinkorswimsetting charts and workspace. Of course, it’s impossible to tell everything, but if my hands reach the point of making a video, then I’ll tell you some more points on optimizing the workspace, speeding up the Thinkorswim terminal, and give some tips. Trading Blog thanks for your attention. Be successful!

TOS

Good afternoon trading blog readers. Today thinkorswimdownload without ban and delay (Live Trading with real quotes) is more difficult than before. And this trend is only growing. This article can be your gateway to the US stock market, as here we will look at how and where you can download Thinkorswim without any problems, and if they do arise in the future, how to get around them.

Thinkorswim (TOS for short) has two versions. What they are and how they differ, we will now consider:

  1. paper money– has access to demo trading. This, of course, is a plus. Among the minuses is the delay of quotes (according to charts, tape, etc.) for 20 minutes, as well as the lack of a full-fledged stock filter (and this is the main minus)
  2. Live Trading- here it's the other way around. This version doesn't offer demo trading, but it does give you one of the most powerful and user-friendly stock filters I know of, and there's no real-time 20 minute delay in the data.

The main reason you need TOS is to practice trading using the swing trading strategy which is in the link. Since a 20-minute delay in quotes does not play any role for a swing trader, the ideal solution for you would be to download Thinkorswim Paper Money, which is no problem today.

But, it would be great to get Live Trading as well, in order to make the most of the multifunctional filter from TOS. And here already there are problems.

Previously, TD Ameritrade quietly allowed downloading this version of the platform after registration. But then the shop closed. Some explain this by the fact that residents of the CIS countries fell out of favor with this broker, others that there were so many free registrars that they overloaded the servers.

In short, you still want to use a platform with a full-fledged stock filter, and we’ll talk further about how to get it.

What do we need to download Thinkorswim for free

So, check out the following sites and programs that are required to register TOS:

  1. US Resident Generation Site: http://en.fakenamegenerator.com/. Here you get all the necessary data of an American citizen. Of course, when registering, you can specify your data, but believe me, American ones are better. If they go again mass closures accounts, then you will have a better chance of not getting banned.
  2. NRIC generation site: http://www.samliew.com/icgen/. NRIC is an analogue of our identification code, as I understand. You will also need it for registration.
  3. Proxy Switcher program - changes the IP address of a computer on the Internet. What is it for us and what to do with it, I will tell later.

Thinkorswim Registration Live Trading

On the next page, select "Register now".

The next step is to complete the questionnaire. First go to the site for generating US residents, the link to which I gave above, and generate for yourself the data of some American citizen. With their help, you fill out completely all the items in the questionnaire that are marked with a green asterisk, except for the NRIC field.

Go to the second site I gave above and create a NRIC for yourself. Must be two letters and 7 numbers. Copy this combination into the required field.

The last two registration questions, which ask how did you find out about their site and what is your education, you can answer whatever you want. For example, "Site/Search engine" - "Google" and "A-level".

When everything is filled in, save your login and password in a separate computer file (so as not to forget) and click "Register". You have passed the main stage. I'm generally unsure of what to fill in the next pages, but it's better to go through everything to the end. There you can click whatever you want. At the end, they will say that in order to proceed with the registration, you need to fund the brokerage account. This is where you stop.

Return to the main page and, having selected the item “Thinkorswim platform” in the “Trading technology” field, download the platform for the operating system that you need.

That's it. All you have to do is install it and start Live trading by entering your saved login and password.

What did you get? There is a delay of 20 minutes for quotes, but as I said, this is not so important for a swing trader. The main thing is that now you can use the powerful stock filter from TOS. Of course, there is also demo trading here, but from the start you need to choose Paper Money.

And the last: why do you need the Proxy Switcher program? Answer: in case of a ban. If your account has been closed, please try to register again. in the following way: delete all your browser cookies - using Proxy Switcher (you can easily find the program itself and how to use it on the Internet) create a new US IP address and check if it works - register again as we did.

I've heard that changing the IP doesn't work because Thinkorswim doesn't remember your computer, it authenticates the data you entered. But despite this, before I opened an account with TD Ameritrade, I often had to deal with bans, and the last method worked quite well.

Conclusion

thinkorswim download You can simply register on the website of their Singapore branch. But I don't know how long this ball will last. Anyway, you can always use stock filter from Stock Charts, as described earlier. If you have a desire to engage in swing trading, then there should be no technical problems, as they are disclosed on trading blog. Thank you for your attention and be successful!

The Thinkorswim program is an innovative trading platform with advanced functionality that provides many opportunities for successful trading. With Thinkorswim you can access trading volumes, view Reuters news feed, scan financial instruments on the stock market, set up a trading emulator, develop trading strategies, analyze volatility and use many other useful options while working on financial markets.

The Thinkorswim trading platform has two modifications. The first PaperMoney is for demo trading and the second thinkDesktop is for real trading. Let's take a closer look at the version of PaperMoney.

It is worth noting that the interface of this program is somewhat different from those trading platforms that are used by most traders, so it will take some time to get acquainted with it, especially if you do not know English well.

Installing Thinkorswim PaperMoney

Download the Thinkorswim trading platform installer from the link at the bottom of the article. You will also need to register on the official website of the application developers, be sure to indicate your real mailing address.

After that, you will receive an email with a verification key and a link, by clicking on which you should specify the verification code and click Submit. Thus, you confirm the registration.

Run the installed program and enter the previously specified username and password.

Here you will be asked to choose the option to launch the paperMoney or LiveTrading program. There is not much difference between them, but there is no Level2 in LiveTrading.

Gadgets at Thinkorswim

The Thinkorswim program uses a number of additional gadgets (internal applications) that are responsible for various functions. So, you can connect news from Reuters, CNBC to trade on american stock exchange, radio, calculator or various mini-games.

Charts in Thinkorswim

By clicking on the Trade tab, you will open the workplace settings window. In total, there are four main types: All Products, Forex Trader, Future Trader, Active Trader. They are represented by a different set of instruments and different time scales.

There is also a similar Charts tab, which differs from the previous one in its initial default settings. If desired, both tabs can be made identical.

It should be noted right away that working with charts in Thinkorswim is not like the usual one. Any tool is opened through the context menu or special buttons on the main menu, which can sometimes be inconvenient. The graph grid is irregular, i.e. are not equal squares. Graphical tools are similar to MT, with Thinkorswim having many more indicators. Indicators can be selected both alphabetically and by application, which is very convenient for users.

Separately, it is worth highlighting the "Strategies" tool, which consists of small scripts that set entry and exit points on price charts in real time.

The program distinguishes four: Market, Stop, Limit, TrailStop. If desired, all orders can be combined into complex OCO pairs, which will cancel one order if another is executed. Thus, a trader can set 2 orders in case the channel is broken.

If you have previously used only the MT trading platform for trading, then at first it will be difficult for you to get used to the Thinkorswim order system. But do not worry, in case of incorrect order filling, the system rejects it, which allows you to avoid unpleasant mistakes.

By switching to the ActiveTrader mode, you can familiarize yourself with unique data - order books by instrument and a table of all cut deals (tape). The analysis of this information will allow you to identify your mistakes and make the right decisions in the future.

There are interesting tools for data analysis. So, you can analyze transactions in the past, volatility, profitability, portfolio risk and much more.

When you run the Scan tool (Scanner), you can set the conditions under which suitable tools will be selected. This function has three modes of operation: Stock, Spread and Book. There are six filters in the Thinkorswim program, which are represented by price, turnover, company capitalization, absolute change per session, percentage change per session and EPS. You can also use 22 additional parameters, which are selected from the 2 lower forms. Among them, one can note the ratio, various price data or the volatility indicator. Thus, the Thinkorswim scanner allows you to select stocks that best suit your trading strategy.

On the MarketWatch tab, you can view information about a given market, i.e. stock splits, company press conferences, general information about raw materials, information and dividends, and so on.

The Thinkorswim program also allows you to view the trades of other traders, exchange ideas with them and read analytical reviews. Thus, you are completely immersed in the exchange world, however, provided that you know English well.

If you want to create your own indicator or develop trading strategy, then you can use the built-in programming language. The trading platform is equipped with a built-in dictionary that allows a trader to understand programming and consider an example of indicators and strategies already available in the program.

Note that the platform does not support automated trading.

Thinkorswim User Guide and Support

When you first start using Thinkorswim, check out the Help tab for various guides and explanations. Also on the Internet you can see a lot of educational videos. In addition, various sites, support services and even radio are at your service.

Conclusions on Thinkorswim

The Thinkorswim trading platform provides ideal conditions for analyzing and trading successfully. Despite its unusualness, many traders call it the best. The only drawback of the application is that there is a 20-minute delay on the demo account relative to real time.
